Hi I’m Fronkie! Thanks for checking me out. I hope I can somehow be a positive impact on your life! Here is my story.
I’ve been drawing habitually and obsessively since I could hold a crayon, and I’m always pursuing growth. I started tattooing in April of 2006 in Tallahassee, FL. At the time, I was the only professional female tattooer in town. In 2009, I opened my own shop, called Sistine Skin. I found a family of tattooers in Ink Fusion Empire, a group of talented tattooers from around the world who share a love of all things nerd culture and meet at comic, sci-fi and horror conventions throughout the year. In the fall of 2012, I moved to southern Maryland, and after taking some time out to welcome my first child to the world, started working at King of the Bay Tattoos.
In 2015, after a deeply felt personal loss, I felt called to leave the tattoo industry and pursue my childhood dream of becoming an illustrator. After taking another break to have my second daughter, I returned to school at the community college and began looking around the country for the perfect illustration BFA program.
During that time I also assisted my mother-in-law Gerrie L’Heureux with some house-flipping projects, updating small spaces with style at a price a young professional could afford. Eventually as Gerrie turned her eye to commercial development, I helped her in the early stages of brainstorming her current successful business, Shepherd’s Old Field Market
In the Fall of 2017, as my children grew to a more independent age, I was ready to return to my professional home, tattooing. I went back to King of the Bay while I finished up a couple semesters. My husband’s employer allowed him to work remotely, so in 2018 we seized the opportunity to move to Richmond, VA, a flourishing city full of art and music.
I have worked at Loose Screw Tattoo, Unkindness Art, Lucky Gypsy, and SinnerG tattoos here in Richmond. All excellent shops I am so honored to have called home for a time. I have worked with some of the most world-famous artists in Richmond- namely Jesse Smith, Christian Buckingham, Teresa Sharpe, and Erin Chance.
At every shop, I learned ways tattooers could be better supported in order to provide their clients with the best possible experience. The pandemic changed the industry making most shops appointment-only, which completely changed the game. In 2021, I decided to open a small private studio for my appointments to keep my costs down and offer my clients a more personal experience.
Through the hardships tattooing puts the body through, I have learned the necessity to treat my body with love and care. I have studied to teach yoga and am passionate about helping others find ways to maintain their physical and spiritual health alongside a productive career.
